HELLO HI
Hello there, it is I, the PaladinsTriviaGuy. I know, it's been 2 weeks and then some since the last date I chose to release the game, but I'm here now. Some IRL stuff happened hence, the late release. But we are now here, and it is Good. The game is finally out.
REALM RUNNERS is an endless runner game that I have been developing for quite some time now. From that, you can derive it's Subway Surfers, but Paladins. But that's not all. One more main feature that I added was Combat. Yes, you get to defeat enemies in this game.
โจ SOME FEATURES โจ
๐ Map Modification
One of the main features in the game is how the Map changes. I initially wasn't going to add this, but when I saw @GameXavike (on Twitter) port the maps from the game to Open3dLabs (which requires actual talent and brains to do. GOAT), I just had to make use of it. In the course of gameplay, You will transition between 3 Maps. I have detailed them below.
๐ Boss Battles
Adding only the combat that you can see from this post from a while back, was not enough for me. So I have added in Boss Battels that have a 20% chance to be encountered when the Map is changing. For now, I only have 2 bosses, more on them below.
๐ Powerful Upgrades
Not counting the OG Champion (Horse), I have 7 Powerups in the game. 6 If we are counting the ones fully implemented. The OG Champion is also not fully implemented as I have to finish some other aspects of the game first. But be rest assured, the remaining 6 are done. More on each Powerup below.
๐ Character Customization (WIP)
You can pick between Lian, Maeve and Nova Mei. Their kit fit quite good with a game like this. But there is no customization on them at the moment. That is a long way coming. But next update will bring in Lex.
๐ Achievements and Trials
I have setup Achievements and Objectives. Completing the Objectives is meant to raise your Score Multiplier permanently. But just as is the main game, it is buggy because of syntax errors in my code for saving and loading. But be rest assured, the Achievements work. Will work on that too when time is due.
๐ EXPLORE THE REALMS ๐
When Starting the game You will start from Fish Market, or at least Fish Market for this type of game.
Fish Market
The props, aesthetics and obstacles on this map mostly are Fish Market. This map is also the one you will be transitioning to after every other map change.
- Simple Obstacles
- Only Map I am allowing the Only Fighter enemy to spawn
- Lots of tight movement required.
Fish Market Dock
The dock is where you will encounter the Boss Mode or the Rush Mode.
- Rush Mode: Runner Enemies spawn at an interval and run in the opposite direction of Player.
- Runner Enemy Speed is 0.8X Player Speed, making them hard to avoid as the game goes on.
- Reward Section of Powerups will be at the end of the Dock, but I have disabled that for now because of Object Pooling reasons.
Dawn Forge (WIP)
I started making this Map today, and I have already made some few tracks for it. Everything on this map is from Dawn Forge. Even enemies, well, when I put them there at least.
- Time transitions from Day to Night when entering this Map.
- A few quick thinking mechanics will be implemented later. Already have the draft for them.
- Boss will be implemented in Map as well later.
๐น ENEMIES & BOSSES ๐น
Here I will detail the 4 types of Enemies that I currently have and the 2 that I have but as always, I have disabled.
Runner Enemies
These enemies run in the opposite direction of the Player in the lane that they're at. Currently they are only spawned at the Fish Market Dock.
- Raum - Same Speed as Player, Damages and Boops the Player onto another Lane if he hit's the Player, requires 2 hits to die.
- Betty's Rockets - Same Speed as Player, Damages the Player at collision, Inanimate so cannot be killed.
- Yagorath (Roll Form) - Same Speed as Player, Damages the Player at collision, Requires 4 hits to die.
- Fury Drogoz (To be implemented) - Same Speed as Player, Kills the Player at collision, Requires 2 hits to die.
Flying Enemies (WIP)
I have plans to include enemies that will engage the player at random, they will be the Flying enemies
- Knockback Inara - Will randoml join ahead of the player and do the wall knockback spawning strat. But yeah, even for me, seems a bit unrealistic that I can pull it off. But I haven't tried so I do not know.
- Imani's Avatar - Probably will be at Warder's Gate. Will spawn in, and shoot flames at a random lane, basically making that lane unusable.
- Grumpy Bomb - Huge HP, if not killed, will stun the player, allowing player to move forward, but neglecting lane change inputs. Ok maybe this is too much.
Epic Bosses
As stated, only 2 Bosses at the moment. Waiting for one of the Models in Yazaino's list to be made, then they will become 3rd boss.
- Ruckus - Missile barrages and lane denial attacks
- Azaan - Lightning, Wall Spawning and Hammer attacks
- Surprise BOSS (when implemented) - XD

โก THE POWERUPS โก
Ziggs' Aid
Requests the aid of Ziggs to Collect ALL Credit in front of You.
Shield
Protects from enemy damage. And yes, I can see it looks tiny on Mei and Lian, have to do some Maths to fix that.
Will-O's Wings
Acquires Will-O's Wings to grant Double Jump. Can also Hold W or Space to redice Gravity.
Pyre Wings
Devote Yourself to the Pyre to be granted Wings to fly above obstacles and collect aerial coins
Admiral's Booty
Recruit the aid of the ruler of the Eight Ocens to replace every Gold or Emerald Coin with a Crystal instead. You get more use out of this Powerup the faster and longer you go.
Score and Credits Multipliers
You can pickup multipliers that increase the amount gained per coin pick or score gain. The Multipliers vary in 4 ways. 2 of them give you: +2 / +3 and 2 of them give you x2 / x3. They also stack. Prioritizing the Score Multipliers will be for those aiming for the Leaderboard (coming in next update) and the Credits Multiplier which is honestly too powerful. You'll see when You play, what I mean.

If your PC boots, it can run the game.
Before you download please know this. I know, there are a TON of bugs in the game, I am aware of that. I will fix all of them in the coming weeks since I am not going back to Uni for the next 3 weeks. I will try to have an update every week from today going onwards.
